The authorities of 17 American States are jointly planning to develop ecologically clean energy and transportation. It has been mentioned in the declaration signed on Tuesday.

State authorities take responsibility for development of more advanced and efficient power lines, “green” energy and transportation that will minimize environmental damage. Furthermore, they will call the Federal Government for financing renewable energy researches.

This initiative was launched by Iowa, Washington, Vermont, Virginia, Hawaii, Delaware, California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island. According to TASS, both Democratic and Republican Parties will participate in the program.

“We consider that to be a powerful engine of economic growth”, said Jay Insley, Chief Executive of Washington. His Californian colleague, Jerry Brown, stated: “By launching this joint initiative the executives of both Parties took a responsibility for development of clean energy. We are seeking to purify the air and conserve natural resources”.
